New Delhi: To mitigate the tragic impact of COVID-19, LEHS I WISH announced the setting up of COVID Care Centers across India. It has already set up centres in Delhi, Holy Family Hospital and in Bhopal.
In the next few days such centers would be established in other parts of Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Rajasthan, Assam, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Maharashtra.
LEHS | WISH will support these COVID centers by providing emergency medical supplies including liquid oxygen, cryogenic tankers, concentrators, pulse oximeter, and ventilators along with PPE kits. These COVID Care Centers will augment the available hospital beds which are falling short with the rise in daily cases of more than 4 lakh.
LEHS| WISH with support from multiple donors and in agreement from the state government is developing these COVID Care Centers to address the requirement of more beds equipped with oxygen support. Presently it is of paramount importance to ensure that COVID patients get adequate treatment.
Rajesh Ranjan Singh CEO, LEHS I WISH said, “Data suggests that the second wave is proving to be more infectious and deadlier in some states. Acknowledging that the situation is catastrophic and a burden on the Indian healthcare system that nobody was prepared for, we are indeed facing a tragic Tsunami. We have been successful in setting up our first COVID Care Centre in Bhopal and this is just the beginning. This initiative will help decrease the stress among the patients and caregivers by facilitating the delivery of quality healthcare services through WISH-supported CCC’s.” He added, ” LEHS|WISH has stepped up its aid efforts by helping many state governments in setting up makeshift hospitals. Meticulous planning and logistics are required to provide quality healthcare. We are confident of providing succor to lakhs of Indians.”
Since January 2021, has been running awareness-building campaigns with promotional materials, community mobilization efforts, and capacity-building sessions across various states.
