New Delhi: Meta enters, Facebook’s parent company, has collaborated and entered into a three-year partnership with India’s Education Ministry and the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. This partnership has been named “Education to Entrepreneurship: Empowering a generation of students, educators, and entrepreneurs.”
The partnership aims to provide beneficial assistance to students, educators and entrepreneurs around the nation, and position India globally as a skill capital. The event was inaugurated by Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister for Education and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship.
Meta exchanged three letters of intent (LoI) with the National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD), All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), and Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
The partnership with NIESBUD will allow 500,000 entrepreneurs to gain access to Meta’s digital marketing skills training for the duration of the partnership. Aspiring and established entrepreneurs alike will be able to receive instruction pertaining to digital marketing through Meta’s platforms. It will be available in seven regional languages.
Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Minister of State for Electronics & Information Technology, Skill Development, and Entrepreneurship, added that this initiative of the government will act as a bridge to connect innumerable small rural, micro and self-employed entrepreneurs and help them grow and flourish in the global economy.
Meta’s president of global affairs, Nick Clegg, acknowledged India’s talent and rapid digital adoption, and stated that it was an ideal hub for investments in emerging technologies.
