Bhopal: The Department of Tribal Affairs of the Madhya Pradesh government has partnered with Magic Bus India Foundation to introduce a life skills education program called Project ‘Saksham’ in government schools. The project is expected to empower master trainers and government school teachers. This is currently being done across 20 districts and 89 blocks in the state. Magic Bus India Foundation is a non-profit organisation that provides education and skilling.
Magic Bus will provide training to master trainers, who will in turn train 18,000 government teachers, to impart life skills to around one million students across 9,000 government schools. These schools would include CM Rise Schools, Middle Schools, Special Residential Schools including Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS), Kanya Shiksha Parisar (KSP), Model Residential Schools (MRS) Hostels and Ashram, specifically targeting adolescents from grades 6 to 10.
This partnership is planned for four years, with the initial phase encompassing 20 districts and 53 blocks. As it progresses, Project Saksham will cover all schools within the 89 tribal blocks by the second year.
“We are committed to translating the vision of the NEP 2020 into tangible action. Our partnership with Magic Bus India Foundation marks a crucial stride towards equipping our adolescents with life skills and empowering them to become self-reliant,” said MP Principal Secretary, Department of Tribal Affairs, Pallavi Jain Govil.
