New Delhi: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has issued an advisory to Paytm FASTag users, urging them to obtain a new FASTag from a different bank before March 15. Paytm FASTag users will no longer be able to recharge or top-up their balances following this date. They can continue using the existing balance for toll payments beyond the specified deadline.
NHAI advised that attaining a new FASTag from an alternate bank will help users avoid penalties or double fee charges while traveling on National Highways. Users are recommended to reach out to their respective banks or go through the FAQs provided on the Indian Highway Management Company Limited (IHMCL) website for any needed assistance.
This advisory comes in the wake of the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) announcement last month, pressing customers and merchants of Paytm Payments Bank Ltd (PPBL) to transfer their accounts to other banks by March 15.
