New Delhi: Novman Ahmed, the Managing Director of Hospital Services Consultancy Corporation Limited (HSCC), delivered a keynote address at the APAC 3rd PSU Tech Conclave, where he started by expressing his view on technology and said, “We cannot chase technology. If we start chasing technology we will always be behind it.”
Ahmed encouraged staying ahead of technology by thinking 20 years into the future. He discussed the transformative potential of AI in healthcare, and the need to anticipate and adapt to future changes, such as virtualising healthcare services.
Highlighting HSCC’s focus on infrastructure development Ahmed revealed HSCC’s recent adoption of the Building Information Modelling (BIM) for virtual construction, which aids in early detection of clashes and enhances planning efficiency.
Ahmed said, “We have created a studio within our organisation where our architects work on creating virtual models of the building which are given to stakeholders, to further develop on it, and then while planning the construction of those hospitals we make look-ahead plans based on those 3D models.”
Healthcare presents significant business opportunities, surpassing even the oil industry, Ahmed believes. He thereby discussed the initiatives HSCC has taken to expand those chances, like the development of a cloud-based quality monitoring software and an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platform, and acknowledged the importance of artificial intelligence which, Ahmed said, drives most operational improvements in their company.
