Bengaluru: In a pre-Series A funding round, Moving Tech has raised USD 11 million, with the participation of Google and other investors. The investment aligns with Moving Tech’s objective to improve the convenience of commuters, integrate public transportation, and empower chauffeurs. The investment round was anchored by Blume Ventures and Antler.
The company has developed several community-led mobility applications, including Namma Yatri, Yatri Sathi, Yatri, and Mana Yatri. Moving Tech’s objective is to enhance the earnings of drivers by utilizing direct-to-driver and multimodal transportation models, while simultaneously offering sustainable, affordable, seamless, and dependable mobility solutions for all. In 2020, Moving Tech, a spin-off from Juspay, began its mobility journey with the development of India’s first open mobility app, Yatri, which was based on the BECKN/ONDC protocol.
Namma Yatri was subsequently introduced in Bengaluru in 2022. The app and its family of applications are entirely open-source, feature open data metrics, and are affiliated with the ONDC Network. The objective of these applications is to establish a sustainable, efficient, and transparent transportation ecosystem, with the aspiration of becoming the “UPI for mobility.”
