Dibrugarh: Oil India Limited (OIL) has reportedly signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH), Dibrugarh. It has been signed for the construction of a tertiary care referral hospital and a state-of-the-art 37-bed multi-story patient care cabin facility.
The project is estimated to cost Rs 8.9 crore. Anfor Ali Haque, resident chief executive of OIL, and Dr. Sanjeev Kakati, principal of AMCH signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
AMCH, the Northeast’s first medical college, is assumed to be an important government health facility that treats patients from Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, and other nearby northeastern states. According to OIL, over the last few years, hospitals have been facing the need for an upgraded and sufficient infrastructure with an increased demand for subsidized treatment. This initiative is in line with meeting the demands and strengthening the healthcare delivery system.
