Mumbai: BharatPe and Nasscom Foundation have teamed up to help 1,500 women entrepreneurs in Maharashtra formalize their businesses. The program focuses on providing rural women in districts like Ahmednagar, Beed, and Latur with the tools needed to register their businesses and access digital markets.
As part of the initiative, the women received support for securing important business licenses, such as FSSAI and Udyam registration, helping them join the formal economy. In addition, 250 women were connected to online marketplaces like MSME Global Mart and ONDC to grow their businesses.
Local resource persons were trained to guide the entrepreneurs through the process and provide ongoing support. This project is part of BharatPe’s CSR efforts under its ‘BharatPe Cares’ initiative and aims to boost financial inclusion for women in rural areas.
BharatPe CEO Nalin Negi said the program is about giving rural women the tools to expand their businesses, while Nasscom Foundation’s Rostow Ravanan emphasized the importance of building economic independence for women in rural communities.
