Nagpur: EKA Mobility, a subsidiary of Pinnacle Mobility Solutions , has secured a major order to supply 250 electric buses to the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC). This marks a significant achievement in the company’s mission to provide sustainable public transportation.
The deployment of these e-buses will support NMC’s goal of offering an eco-friendly, efficient, and reliable transit network, helping to reduce emissions and operational costs across key routes in Nagpur.
The contract was awarded to Hansa Vahan India , formerly Hansa Travels, which is partnering with EKA Mobility for this project. EKA Mobility will manufacture and supply 12-meter, air-conditioned electric buses to Hansa Vahan. Additionally, EKA will handle the annual maintenance of the fleet throughout the operation period. Each bus is designed to accommodate 41 seated passengers, with standing room for an additional 24 commuters.
Commenting on the new partnership, Rohit Srivastava, Chief Growth Officer of EKA Mobility, expressed excitement about contributing to Nagpur’s journey toward becoming one of India’s most sustainable cities. He highlighted this order as further proof of EKA Mobility’s growing leadership in the electric vehicle market. Srivastava reaffirmed the company’s commitment to delivering green mobility solutions across India to support clean energy goals.
EKA Mobility, with equity partners Mitsui (Japan) and VDL Groep (Netherlands), has already deployed its e-buses at locations such as Delhi Airport for UBER shuttles and Pune International Airport. The company also supplies electric delivery vans to IKEA in India through a strategic partnership.
The company offers zero-emission e-buses that lower the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) compared to traditional diesel buses. These buses contribute to cleaner air and reduce urban smog, making them an ideal solution for cities aiming to enhance sustainability while maintaining cost-effectiveness.
