New Delhi: Niti Aayog’s Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP) has joined hands with Urban Company to help women-led small businesses in the beauty and wellness sector grow. The pilot programme aims to provide women entrepreneurs with training in areas like skill development, legal guidance, access to finance, and business growth strategies.
A recent study by MicroSave Consulting identified beauty and wellness as one of the key sectors with a large number of women-led micro-businesses. As part of the partnership, Urban Company will focus on identifying women working in small beauty and salon units and offer them training and resources to expand their operations.
Launched in 2018, WEP started as an aggregator platform by Niti Aayog and moved to a public-private partnership model in 2022. The new collaboration aims to build a support framework for women entrepreneurs, using insights from this pilot to help similar businesses nationwide.
