Panchkula: In a significant step towards eliminating TB in India, Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda launched a 100-Day TB-Free India Campaign in Panchkula, focusing on accelerating efforts to eliminate tuberculosis (TB) before the global deadline of 2030. The initiative targets 347 high TB burden districts, aiming to enhance the detection, diagnosis, and treatment of TB patients, especially among high-risk groups.

Strengthening Diagnostics and Treatment
The campaign introduces advanced diagnostic tools such as mobile AI-enabled X-rays and expanded diagnostic lab networks to improve early detection. It also emphasizes patient support through the Ni-kshay Poshan Yojana, which now provides ₹1,000 per month for nutritional needs.

Milestones in TB Control
India has already achieved an 87% treatment success rate and reduced TB-related deaths by 21.4% over the last decade. The campaign will build on these achievements by implementing innovative treatment models and promoting active case detection to identify hidden infections.
