New Delhi:Â IAS Namrata Gandhi has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat for a four-year term. The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) issued the appointment order, approving her posting under the central staffing scheme for four years or until further orders. Namrata is a 2013-batch IAS officer of the Chhattisgarh cadre.
Namrata began her administrative career as an Assistant Collector in Rajnandgaon and later held key positions, including Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the District Panchayat in Kanker, Surguja, and Dhamtari. She also served as Collector of Gariaband and Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi districts and is currently the Collector of Dhamtari. Born on February 1, 1989, in Mumbai, Namrata completed her education in the city and graduated in Political Science from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai.
Notably, Namrata has been selected for the Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration for successfully implementing the GIS-based Water Conservation Plan in the Dhamtari district. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will present the award to her on National Civil Services Day, April 21.
Namrata’s new role in the Cabinet Secretariat reflects her growing contributions to governance and policy implementation at the national level.
