Ranchi: Chief Minister Hemant Soren launched six web portals and launched the Innovation Hub at the Ranchi Science Centre during a state-level workshop on the Jharkhand Research and Innovation Policy-2025. The event, held at the Jharkhand Ministry auditorium, also showcased initiatives aimed at strengthening higher and technical education in the state.
The newly launched web portals, developed by the Higher and Technical Education Department, aim to enhance digital governance and academic infrastructure. These include:
- Salary Verification Portal: Streamlines salary verification for university and college staff.
- Learning Management Portal: Manages online teaching, training, and academic programs.
- Private University Management Portal: Regulates the establishment and management of private universities.
- CM Fellowship Scheme Portal: Facilitates applications for research fellowships.
- Apprenticeship Management Portal: Simplifies apprenticeship selection and training.
- Grant Portal for Non-Aided Colleges: Ensures faster grant processing for permanently affiliated non-aided colleges.
Boosting Innovation and Scientific Research
The Chief Minister also inaugurated the Innovation Hub at Ranchi Science Centre, which aims to foster creativity and problem-solving skills among students and researchers. Further strengthening the state’s scientific infrastructure, a Rs. 270 crore project has been approved to upgrade the Regional Science Centre into Science City on a 25-acre site in Ranchi. This initiative is expected to promote scientific tourism and provide hands-on learning experiences.
Jharkhand Student Research and Innovation Policy-2025Â
The state government also introduced the Jharkhand Student Research and Innovation Policy-2025, with a Rs. 1,280 crore budget, aligning with the National Education Policy 2020. The policy supports startup seed funding, research projects, academic conferences, and the establishment of Innovation Cells in universities and colleges, aiming to make Jharkhand a hub for research-based economic and technological development.
