Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh government has introduced two new policies aimed at boosting the state’s semiconductor and drone industries. The Madhya Pradesh Semiconductor Policy-2025 and the Madhya Pradesh Drone Promotion and Utilization Policy-2025 were approved during a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Tuesday. The move comes ahead of the upcoming Global Investors’ Summit scheduled for February 24-25.
New Semiconductor Policy to Attract Investments
The state government has developed the semiconductor policy after reviewing similar frameworks in other states. The policy is designed to create an investment-friendly environment and build a sustainable ecosystem for semiconductor manufacturing. Minister for Urban Administration Kailash Vijayvargiya stated that this initiative is expected to drive long-term industrial development in Madhya Pradesh.
Drone Policy to Expand Usage Across Sectors
The Madhya Pradesh Drone Promotion and Utilization Policy-2025 aims to promote the use of drone technology in agriculture, infrastructure, disaster management, and public safety. The government plans to integrate drones into multiple sectors to enhance efficiency, economic development, and employment opportunities.
PM Awas Yojana-Urban 2.0 Implementation Approved
The cabinet also approved the implementation of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban 2.0, targeting the construction of 10 lakh houses over five years for families in the economically weaker, lower-, and middle-income groups. The scheme, with a budget of ₹50,000 crore, includes three key components:
Self-Construction Grants: Beneficiaries will receive financial assistance to build houses on their own land.
Affordable Housing in Partnership (AHP): Urban bodies will develop affordable homes for the economically weaker sections.
Interest Subsidy Scheme (ISS): Interest subsidies on housing loans will be provided through banks and housing finance corporations.
