Gurugram: Micromax Informatics has launched Startup Energy, a new venture focused on solar panel manufacturing in India. The company aims to expand its presence in the renewable energy sector, aligning with India’s clean energy goals.
Micromax Expands into Solar Panel Manufacturing
Homegrown consumer electronics brand Micromax Informatics has entered the renewable energy sector with the launch of Startup Energy. The new venture will focus on manufacturing high-efficiency solar panels for residential, commercial, and industrial use.
Micromax aims to support India’s clean energy transition by making solar power more accessible and cost-effective. “Our goal is to provide affordable and scalable solar power solutions that benefit both individuals and businesses,” said Rajesh Agarwal, Managing Director of Micromax Informatics.
Partnership with Jinchen for 5GW Solar Module Plant
As part of its renewable energy push, Micromax has signed a strategic agreement with China-based Jinchen to deploy a 5GW advanced solar module manufacturing line in phases. The project will integrate automation and high-efficiency production technologies to improve energy output and long-term sustainability.
The company plans to set up a manufacturing facility equipped with advanced automation and precision engineering. In addition, Micromax is looking at strategic research and development (R&D) partnerships to enhance solar technology and efficiency.
India’s Growing Solar Market and Competition
India has been accelerating its renewable energy adoption, with a strong focus on solar power. The country aims to reach 500GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030. However, the solar panel market is becoming increasingly competitive, with established players and government-backed initiatives already driving large-scale production.
