New Delhi: IndiGo has partnered with food delivery platform Swiggy to integrate its BluChip loyalty program with daily consumer spending habits. The tie-up enables IndiGo’s loyalty program members to earn reward points on Swiggy transactions, including food orders, grocery deliveries via Instamart, and Dineout restaurant bookings.
The collaboration, announced on Thursday, allows users to earn one BluChip point for every Rs 100 spent on Swiggy’s services. These points can later be redeemed for IndiGo flight bookings, with no expiry or blackout dates.
Focus on integrating travel with digital consumption
According to IndiGo, the partnership aims to make the airline’s loyalty program part of consumers’ everyday purchases, aligning with a broader trend of integrating travel with digital-first lifestyles. “From ordering meals to groceries, members can now earn rewards for their next trip,” said Neetan Chopra, Chief Digital and Information Officer at IndiGo.
The move reflects a growing interest among airlines and digital service platforms to cross-leverage their user bases by offering interoperable reward ecosystems.
Phani Kishan, Chief Growth Officer at Swiggy, said the partnership is intended to create more value for users by combining routine spending with travel-related benefits.
How the system works
Members can activate the benefit by linking their IndiGo BluChip accounts with the Swiggy app. The loyalty points earned on Swiggy are separate and do not affect any existing offers or benefits under Swiggy One or other Swiggy-specific schemes.
This integration marks a shift toward co-branded digital partnerships that go beyond conventional airline or food delivery loyalty frameworks.
Market context
IndiGo, which operates more than 2,200 daily flights across 90 domestic and 35 international destinations, served over 113 million passengers in 2024. Swiggy, founded in 2014, currently partners with over 200,000 restaurants and delivers groceries in 100 Indian cities via Instamart.
With consumer behavior increasingly shaped by digital platforms, the IndiGo–Swiggy partnership reflects an emerging strategy in which travel and e-commerce ecosystems seek to intersect through loyalty programs that reward everyday purchases.
