New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Amit Kumar Jain as Director (Finance) at Grid Controller of India Limited (Grid-India). Jain, who currently serves as General Manager at Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL), will take charge for a period of five years from the date of assuming office or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
A seasoned professional, Jain is a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and brings with him vast experience in financial management within the power sector. His appointment is expected to enhance Grid-India’s financial strategies and support its operational growth in the evolving energy landscape.
Grid-India, formerly known as Power System Operation Corporation Limited (POSOCO), operates under the administrative control of the Ministry of Power, Government of India. It plays a critical role in ensuring the seamless and secure operation of India’s electricity grid through its network of five Regional Load Despatch Centres (RLDCs) and the National Load Despatch Centre (NLDC). Jain’s leadership is expected to be instrumental as Grid-India continues to adapt to new challenges in power system management and energy transition.
