New Delhi: The Government of India has appointed two senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers, IAS Ashish Vachhani and IAS MS Srikar, as Additional Secretaries in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). The appointments are part of the government’s ongoing efforts to bolster administrative efficiency and strategic policy implementation at the highest level.
Ashish Vachhani, a 1997-batch IAS officer from the Tamil Nadu cadre, previously served in the Department of Economic Affairs and has played a significant role in national economic policymaking. Known for his analytical acumen and decision-making abilities, Vachhani has also held key positions in the Cabinet Secretariat. His transition to the PMO is expected to enhance the office’s economic policy insights and governance capabilities.
MS Srikar, a 1999-batch IAS officer from the Karnataka cadre, brings extensive experience in administration and policy formulation. Throughout his career, he has been actively involved in various central and state-level assignments, gaining a reputation for sound administrative judgment and effective policy delivery.
Both officers are expected to contribute meaningfully to the Prime Minister’s Office at a time when the central government is focused on streamlining governance and accelerating development initiatives. Their appointments underscore the importance of placing seasoned and competent administrators in strategic roles.
