New Delhi: In a strategic move to address the global shortage of healthcare professionals, NSDC International, the international arm of the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), has announced a plan to train approximately 1 Lakh caregivers for deployment in countries such as Germany, Japan, the United Kingdom, and Israel.

Global Demand for Skilled Caregivers
The initiative comes amid increasing demand for qualified healthcare workers in several developed nations. NSDC International noted that countries like Germany and Japan are experiencing acute shortages of caregivers, which has started affecting the quality and delivery of healthcare services.

Language and Soft Skills Training
To boost employability, candidates enrolled in the programme are receiving comprehensive training in English and German, along with soft skills. These training modules are designed to help caregivers integrate effectively into the healthcare systems of their destination countries. As a result of this preparation, several hospitals and institutions abroad have begun recruiting directly from NSDC’s programmes.

Competitive Pay and International Collaborations
NSDC International highlighted that many employers in Japan and Germany are offering competitive salaries, acknowledging the high-quality training Indian caregivers receive. The organisation has partnered with global institutions such as the University of Cambridge, Cambridge Boxhill Language Assessment Trust, and top language training providers in Germany and Japan.

Expanding Global Footprint
Training for 5,000 caregivers for Israel has already commenced. To support this large-scale initiative, NSDC has established dedicated training centres across India equipped with facilities tailored to prepare candidates for international employment. This initiative is part of India’s broader strategy to become a global hub for skilled workforce deployment.
