Lucknow: In a significant administrative overhaul, the Uttar Pradesh government has announced the transfers and fresh postings of four officers of the Indian Police Service (IPS). One of the major appointments includes the appointment of senior IPS Rajeev Krishna as the new Director General of Police (DGP) of the state. 

A 1991 batch IPS officer, Krishna replaces IPS Prashant Kumar and brings with him a reputation for integrity and efficient leadership. Until now, he served as DG Vigilance and Chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board, where he was widely praised for conducting a fair and transparent police recruitment process without any reported incidents of malpractice.
