New Delhi: Infosys Foundation has launched a Rs 200 crore initiative aimed at training five lakh Indian job seekers by 2030 through a structured skill development program.
The initiative, called the Infosys Springboard Livelihood Program, will operate through the company’s digital learning platform, Infosys Springboard. It is designed to offer job-oriented training that aligns with industry needs, cutting across STEM and non-STEM sectors.
The program focuses on emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning, while also addressing non-tech areas like digital marketing, finance, communication, time management, and interview preparation.
By offering modular, practical learning aligned with real-world job markets, the initiative aims to enhance career readiness among graduates and undergraduates. Unlike traditional academic skills, the program is designed to directly support employment outcomes.
To ensure on-ground execution, Infosys Foundation has collaborated with nearly 20 partner organisations, including ICT Academy, NIIT Foundation, Unnati, Magic Bus, and the Aga Khan Rural Support Programme. These groups will help identify job opportunities, deliver the training modules, and assist participants in career planning.
According to the Foundation, over 80,000 individuals have already secured employment through the program in the current financial year, suggesting early traction in implementation.
Sumit Virmani, Trustee at Infosys Foundation, said the initiative aims to bridge the gap between learning and livelihoods in India’s rapidly evolving job market. “India’s greatest opportunity lies in equipping its workforce with relevant skills to meet the challenges of the AI age,” he said in a statement.
