Vijayawada: The State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB), chaired by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, on Thursday approved investments worth Rs 53,922 crore across 30 projects, with the potential to generate employment for 83,437 people.

Naidu emphasised that he would closely track the progress of these projects through monthly reviews, while ministers were directed to oversee on-ground implementation.

Stressing the “speed of doing business” approach, Naidu instructed officials to ensure faster approvals and robust facilitation to attract and sustain investments.

Among the major clearances:

HFCL received approval for a Rs 1,197 crore unit at Madakasira, expected to create 870 jobs; Apollo Tyres will invest Rs 1,110 crore in Chittoor with 500 jobs; the Dhirubhai Ambani Green Tech Park at Krishnapatnam involves an investment of Rs 1,843 crore with employment for 19,000 people; Serentika Renewables’ Rs 2,000 crore project in Anantapur will employ 320 people; Navayuga Engineering secured clearance for a Rs 15,455 crore project in Paderu generating 8,400 jobs; and Chinta Green Energy’s Rs 5,050 crore unit in Kadapa is projected to provide 8,400 jobs.

Naidu underlined that the state is also in talks to attract the Mahindra Electric Vehicle plant and highlighted opportunities in food processing, particularly in Chittoor and Rayalaseema, to add value to local produce such as mangoes.

He also called for the development of MSME parks across all Assembly constituencies and linking them with innovation hubs to enhance competitiveness.

During the meeting, Naidu criticised the previous government for its controversial land allotment near Tirumala hills, which he said undermined the sanctity of the pilgrimage site.

He noted that the NDA government had shifted the project to an alternative location to safeguard public sentiments.

The meeting was attended by Ministers Payyavula Keshav, G. Ravikumar, T.G. Bharat, Anagani Satyaprasad, Vasamsetti Subhas and Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand.
