Kolkata: Desun Hospital plans to set up a new private medical college with 250 MBBS seats in West Bengal.
The college will be set up near Dankuni along the Durgapur Expressway (NH19). The medical college will be a component of the Desun Health City project. It will also include a 1500-bed hospital.
The first phase will be operational by mid-2028. The full project will be completed by 2030.
The campus will also house Desun University. Engineering, skill development, and other non-medical courses will be taught at this university.
The project is being developed on 585 acres of land at an estimated cost of Rs 1100 crore.
Desun Hospital recently received Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation. This is considered the global benchmark for the future.
