New Delhi: The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has announced the appointments of IAS Richa Verma and IRS Shreyansh Mohan as Deputy Secretaries in the Department of Higher Education, Government of India.
Both appointments have been made under the Central Staffing Scheme. The officers will serve for a period of four years from the date they assume charge or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Verma, a 2012 batch IAS officer from the Himachal Pradesh cadre, has previously served in key administrative roles, including as Managing Director of the Himachal Pradesh State Handicrafts & Handloom Corporation and the Himachal Pradesh State Industrial Development Corporation (HPSIDC). She is known for her work in promoting industrial and handicraft development and for her effective leadership in public administration.
Shreyansh Mohan, an Indian Revenue Service (Customs & Indirect Taxes) officer from the 2015 batch, has been recommended by the Department of Revenue, requiring him to be relieved of his current duties to join the Ministry of Education on central deputation.
Both officers, through their new roles, will contribute to policy formulation and implementation in India’s higher education sector, supporting initiatives to enhance educational governance and institutional excellence across the country.
