HUDCO signs MoUs worth over Rs 1 lakh crore with major ports to finance side port projects, marking its entry into India’s maritime infrastructure sector.

Kolkata: HUDCO has signed several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) worth over Rs 1 lakh crore to boost India’s port infrastructure development by funding side port projects.

The MoUs have been signed with Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port in Kolkata, Vishakapatnam Port Authority, Paradip Port Authority in Odisha, Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority in Mumbai, Mumbai Port Authority and Sagarmala Finance Corporation.

This is s major milestone in HUDCO’s efforts to expand its financing portfolio into maritime and coastal infrastructure.

HUDCO’s entry into port financing comes at a strategic time when the Maritime India Vision 2030 eyes Rs 3-3.5 lakh crore of investments across ports, shipping and inland waterways.
