AMPIN to Invest Over Rs 1000 Cr in West Bengal for Green Energy

AMPIN Energy Transition will invest over Rs 1,000 crore in West Bengal for solar cell manufacturing, BESS units and new solar plants, creating up to 1,500 jobs.

Kolkata: AMPIN Energy Transition plans to invest Rs 1000 crore + in West Bengal for advanced solar cell and battery energy storage manufacturing and solar power plants.

The company plans to invest Rs 700 crore for manufacturing and another Rs 300 crore for the power plant.

The company is currently identifying land in industrial parks in the state for manufacturing activities.

This would generate employment for up to 1500 people, both directly and indirectly.

AMPIN would require 15-20 acres of land for a 1-2 GW solar cell manufacturing facility.

The company also plans to provide green energy solutions to data centres in Bengal.

AMPIN already has a rooftop solar in a Tata Hitachi plant at Kharagpur. This has supplied 100MW of green energy to WBSEDCL and 150MW to CESC.
