New Delhi: GAIL (India) Limited has announced the appointment of Deepak Gupta as the new Chairman and Managing Director (CMD).
The appointment was approved by the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas (MoPNG).
Gupta’s appointment will be effective from the date of assumption of charge on or after 1 March 2026. His tenure will continue until 28 February 2029 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Gupta is an experienced professional in the energy and infrastructure sector, with expertise in natural gas pipeline projects, LNG operations, and large-scale energy infrastructure development. Before this appointment, he served as Director (Projects) at GAIL, heading multiple strategic projects. He has played a key role in expanding GAIL’s LNG, pipeline, and city gas distribution initiatives.
As the CMD, he is expected to enhance GAIL’s project execution and operational efficiency.
