New Delhi: Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) has appointed IAS Vinod Seshan as the Government Nominee Director on its Board.
Seshan is currently serving as the Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. His appointment has been approved by ONGC’s board.
Seshan will serve for a period of three years on a co-terminus basis or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Seshan is a 2008-batch officer belonging to the Assam cadre. He brings over 20 years of professional experience, including over 17 years in policy-making, implementation, development, and infrastructure project management, district administration, and crisis response.
Prior to joining the IAS, Seshan worked in the software services sector in India, where he handled roles related to software development, testing, and knowledge management.
During his administrative career, he has also served on the boards of several government companies, including assignments with Oil India Limited and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited.
Seshan has a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Visvesvaraya Technological University, Karnataka. He also earned Master’s degrees in Public Policy and Infrastructure, Investment and Finance from University College London.
