Noida, Aug 26 (APAC Media): Gold and silver prices edged higher on Wednesday, with bullion markets supported by a weaker US dollar and safe-haven demand amid continuing geopolitical uncertainty.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), October gold futures rose 0.13 per cent to ₹163,041 per 10 grams. September silver futures gained 0.48 per cent to ₹245,299 per kg.
According to data from the Indian Bullion Association, 24-carat gold was quoted at ₹163,300 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold stood at ₹149,692. Silver of 999 purity was priced at ₹246,290 per kg.

Gold and silver rates vary slightly across cities because of local taxes, transportation costs and other market factors.
In Delhi, 24-carat gold was priced at ₹162,870 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at ₹149,298. Silver stood at ₹245,770 per kg.

Kolkata saw 24-carat gold at ₹163,130 and 22-carat gold at ₹149,444 per 10 grams. Silver was priced at ₹243,220 per kg.

In Hyderabad, 24-carat gold was quoted at ₹163,410 per 10 grams and silver at ₹246,580 per kg. Chennai recorded the highest 24-carat gold rate among these cities at ₹163,560 per 10 grams, while silver stood at ₹246,730 per kg.
Jewellery buyers should note that retail prices can be higher than bullion rates, as jewellers add making charges, GST and other applicable costs.
The precious metals market remains sensitive to movements in the US dollar, global interest-rate expectations, crude oil prices and geopolitical developments. Investors are also closely watching international economic data for further cues on bullion prices.
