New Delhi, September 1 (APAC Media): The Delhi government has signed an MoU with Dixon Technologies Limited and Kanodia Group to undertake the beautification and development of public spaces in northwest Delhi.
The agreement was signed in the presence of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and is aimed at creating cleaner, greener and more citizen-friendly public spaces through corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
Key Initiatives Under the MoU
The project will include the beautification of the area beneath the Deepali Chowk flyover, along with several measures to enhance Delhi’s public spaces.
The planned initiatives include:
- Murals on flyover pillars showcasing Indian culture, modern art and environmental themes.
- Restoration of the green belt along Mathura Road and MP Marg.
- Installation of drip irrigation systems to support green spaces.
- Fencing and plantation of pollution-resistant plants to improve the area’s environmental quality.
- Development of public spaces to make them cleaner, greener and more organised.
Under the CSR partnership, the two participating companies will each take responsibility for two stretches for beautification and development.
PWD Minister Parvesh Verma said partnerships with companies and other organisations could help the government achieve better results in improving Delhi’s public spaces. He noted that several NGOs and companies are willing to contribute towards the city’s beautification efforts.
The initiative marks a push towards greater public-private participation in urban beautification, while using CSR support to improve the quality and usability of public spaces across Delhi.
