Patna: Kotak Alternate Asset Managers Limited, through its Kotak Life Science Fund I, has invested Rs 40 crore in Mediversal Healthcare, a Patna-based multi-specialty hospital chain.

Asha Ventures, an impact-focused fund, also joined the round. The new capital will help Mediversal grow across Eastern India through organic expansion and acquisitions. The company plans to set up new facilities in Bihar and nearby states.

Founded in 2020 by Navneet Ranjan, Bhanu Pratap, and Jayant Gandhi, Mediversal operates a 200-plus-bed hospital in Patna. It focuses on accessible and patient-friendly care. The group holds Full NABH Certification along with IDCCM, IDCCN, and CAHO ACE accreditations, placing it among the few hospitals in Eastern India with these credentials.

Co-founder and CEO Bhanu Pratap said the investment will speed up expansion across the region. He said the company is opening new hospitals to reach underserved communities and bring care closer to home. He added that the funding will strengthen its technology systems, support smooth scaling, and help maintain consistent service standards. He said the group aims to pair clinical strength with a humane approach based on trust, transparency, and care.

Mediversal served more than 60,000 patients last year across urban and rural areas, showing its growing reach and focus on improving healthcare access.
