New Delhi: Under a new framework called “Aadhaar Vision 2032,” the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has initiated a comprehensive strategic and technological review to chart the next stage of Aadhaar’s development. The initiative aims to enhance India’s standing as a reliable pillar of digital governance while preparing its digital identity platform for the rapidly evolving technological and regulatory landscape.
The goal of the Aadhaar Vision 2032 roadmap is to fortify the platform’s technological underpinnings, incorporate cutting-edge innovations and guarantee that it stays resilient, inclusive and prepared for the future. A major upgrade to UIDAI’s technology stack, which is already essential to India’s digital economy, will allow it to better support the country’s growing digital ecosystem.
To steer this ambitious transformation, UIDAI has constituted a high-level Expert Committee chaired by Neelkanth Mishra, Chairperson, UIDAI. The committee comprises distinguished leaders from academia, industry and administration, including Bhuvnesh Kumar, CEO, UIDAI; Vivek Raghavan, Co-Founder, Sarvam AI; Dheeraj Pandey, Founder, Nutanix; Sasikumar Ganesan, Head of Engineering, MOSIP; Rahul Matthan, Partner, Trilegal; Navin Budhiraja, CTO and Head of Products, Vianai Systems; Dr. Prabaharan Poornachandran, Professor, Amrita University; Anil Jain, Professor, Michigan State University; Mayank Vatsa, Professor, IIT Jodhpur; and Abhishek Kumar Singh, Deputy Director General, UIDAI.
In accordance with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act and international privacy and cybersecurity standards, the committee will create the Aadhaar Vision 2032 document, which will outline the next-generation architecture for Aadhaar.
To guarantee that Aadhaar is resilient against changing cyber threats, scalable to future requirements and adaptable to the digital transformation of governance, the framework will make use of cutting-edge technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, quantum computing, advanced encryption and next-generation data security mechanisms.
UIDAI reaffirms its dedication to innovation, security and public trust through this initiative, guaranteeing that Aadhaar will remain a safe, inclusive, and people-centred digital identity system for India’s upcoming ten years of digital expansion.
