Thrissur: ESAF Small Finance Bank announced the appointment of Karthikeyan Manickam as its new chairman.
Manickam brings decades of experience in banking, risk management, and regulatory compliance. A former executive director of the Bank of India, he is expected to provide strategic direction and independent oversight to the bank’s board.
Manickam’s professional expertise covers core banking operations, credit monitoring, risk management, regulatory compliance, and human resource management. Over the years, Manickam has also served on the boards of Tamil Nadu Grama Bank and BOI STAR Investment Managers, adding to his strong background in institutional governance.
Manickam previously held the position of Chairman at Star Union Dai-ichi Life Insurance Company, where he played a key role in strategic decision-making and oversight.
ESAF Small Finance Bank said the appointment underlines its focus on strong corporate governance, effective risk management, and long-term sustainable growth. The bank believes Manickam’s leadership will support its expansion plans and help navigate India’s increasingly competitive banking landscape.
