Shri. M.A.K.P. Singh, Member (Hydro) and Chief Information Security Officer in the Ministry of Power, is an Electrical Engineering graduate from IIT Kanpur with an MBA from IIT Delhi. Prior to his tenure in the power sector, he held positions in Schlumberger, Geo Services, and Maruti Udyog Ltd. Joining the Central Electricity Authority in 1992, he worked extensively in Regional Power Committees and managed the Northern Regional load dispatch center. Singh also served as Chief Engineer (IT & CS), overseeing the National Power Portal and cybersecurity initiatives. With experience in hydro sector management, he worked for 5 years as Member (Power) at the Narmada Control Authority, focusing on the Sardar Sarovar Hydro Plant and Dam. His expertise spans crisis management in hydro and thermal plants and a profound understanding of critical information infrastructure in the power sector.
