IAS, IPS Officers Among 35 Appointed in Major Govt Reshuffle Across Key Ministries

New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Union Cabinet has approved the postings of 35 officers from various all-India services in a significant administrative reshuffle including IAS Madhup Vyas, IAS Prasanna R, IAS Sushma Chauhan, IAS Prajakta L Verma, IAS Armstrong Pame, IAS Pradeep Kumar Jha and IAS Isha.

These officers, belonging to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Railway Stores Service (IRSS), Indian Trade Service (ITS), Indian Revenue Service (IRS), Indian Economic Service (IES) and Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS), have been assigned key roles in different ministries and departments.

Major Appointments

IAS Madhup Vyas, from the AGMUT cadre, has been appointed as the Deputy Election Commissioner with a five-year tenure.

Muktanand Agarwal, a 2008-batch IAS officer from Rajasthan, will now serve as the Chief Executive Officer of the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana under the Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare for five years.

IAS officers Prasanna R. and Sushma Chauhan have been named joint secretaries in the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Kamala Kant Tripathy, a 1999-batch officer from the Indian Economic Service, has been appointed as a joint secretary in the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister (EAC-PM), NITI Aayog, for five years.

IAS Prajakta L Verma will oversee administrative responsibilities as joint secretary in the Department of Atomic Energy, while IRSS Lakhpat Singh Choudhary has been assigned as joint secretary in the Ministry of Coal.

IAS Saket Kumar, from the 2009 Bihar cadre, will now be a joint secretary in the Department of Commerce.

ITS Satinder Kumar Bhalla has been appointed as the secretary of the North Eastern Council Secretariat.

Ajay Kumar, 1993 batch of IP&TA&FS, will take on the role of joint secretary in the Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare.

IAS Devesh Deval, a 2004-batch officer from Maharashtra, has been appointed as joint secretary in the Ministry of Food Processing Industries.

IAS Raghav Langer has been confirmed as the secretary of the National Medical Commission, and IAS Jyoti Yadav will be a joint secretary in the National Health Authority (NHA).

Prem Chandra Maurya, IRS IT, has been appointed as a joint secretary in the Ministry of Heavy Industries, while IAS Armstrong Pame will serve as joint secretary in the Department of Higher Education.

Samir Kumar, from the Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS) has been named joint secretary at the National Human Rights Commission.

Additionally, IAS Pradeep Kumar Jha and IAS Isha have been appointed as joint secretaries in the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.
