Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government on Wednesday effected a major reshuffle in the IAS cadre. 1997-batch IAS officer Sanjay Kumar Singh has been appointed as the new Commissioner of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC). Singh has been allowed to remain in an additional charge of Vice-Chairman of Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) and CEO of Bhubaneswar Smart City Limited in addition to his own duties.
He was posted as the Commissioner-cum-Secretary of Skill Development and Technical Education Department with an additional charge of Commissioner-Cum-Secretary of Information and Public Relations Department and CMD IDCO.
The outgoing BMC Commissioner Prem Chandra Chaudhary, who holds the additional charge of Vice Chairman, Bhubaneswar Development Authority and CEO, Bhubaneswar Smart City Ltd, has got a new assignment as the Officer on Special Duty in General Administration and Public Grievance Department.
1995-batch officer Hemant Sharma, who is the Secretary of Industries Department with an additional charge of Chairman, IPICOL has been allowed to remain in an additional charge of Principal Secretary of Skill Development and Technical Education Department in addition to his own duties.
Bishnupada Sethi, a 1995-bath IAS officer, who is the Principal Secretary, Revenue and Disaster Management Department with an additional charge of Principal Secretary, Odia Language, Literature and Culture Department has been given the additional charge of Principal Secretary, Information and Public Relations Department in addition to his own duties. Dr. Krishan Kumar, a 2002-batch IAS officer who was posted as the Commissioner-cum-Secretary of Works Department with an additional charge of Chief Administrator, SJTA, Puri, and Chairman, Puri-Konark Development Authority has been given the additional charge of CMD, IDCO in addition to his own duties.
