Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is likely to make an announcement today regarding the lockdown restrictions in the state. On May 31, 2021, the Nitish Kumar led Bihar government extended the COVID-19 lockdown in the state till June 8, 2021. However, certain relaxations were granted by the state government to the business activities.

It is expected that today, the Bihar CM will announce the lockdown in the state to operate with further restrictions. After four extensions of the lockdown that began on May 5. All shops and business establishments were allowed to open alternately from 6am till 2pm.
The district administration was asked to decide the days for the shops. Earlier, certain shops including grocery and vegetable kiosks were allowed to open from 6 am till 10 am. The government will announce today if restrictions must continue or relaxations can be given.
