IIT Kharagpur has offered a free online course on cloud computing that will help undergraduate and postgraduate students as well as researchers to use and explore cloud computing platforms. The course, which can be completed in 8 weeks, requires for participants to have basic knowledge of computer architecture, organization, and networking. The course is being offered on the NPTEL platform, and carries 2 credit points. Participants can also opt for certificates by paying Rs 1000 and clearing an exam to be conducted on 23 October 2021.
The course will be conducted by professor Soumya K Ghosh who is associated with the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, IIT Kharagpur He has obtained his PhD and MTech. degrees from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. Prior to joining the institute, the professor has also worked with the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) in the area of satellite remote sensing and geographic information systems.

The course basically aims at giving participants an understanding of various aspects of cloud computing, including fundamentals, management issues, security challenges and future research trends. The following are some of the topics that will be covered as part of the course:

How to Enroll for the IIT Kharagpur Free Online Course on Cloud Computing?
Interested participants will have to enroll for the course using their SWAYAM, Facebook, Google or Microsoft accounts on the NPTEL platform before 23 August 2021. The course will be conducted from 23 August to 15 October 2021.
