Thiruvananthapuram: As per the recent announcement by the Kerala Government, a minor reshuffle has been undertaken in the state. According to the transfer orders, IPS A Akbar (2005 batch) has been transferred as Inspector General (IG) (Crimes) in Ernakulam. He was earlier serving as the Transport Commissioner, the post which has now been taken over by IPS C Nagaraju (2003 batch).
The list of other transferred officers includes:
IPS Jayanath will assume the role of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police (protection of civil rights). He is the incumbent Managing Director (MD) of Kerala Police Housing and Construction Corporation (KPHCC). He will be replaced by IPS S Syamsundar who will hold the post of MD in addition to serving as the new IG (South Zone).
IPS Putta Vimaladitya has been appointed as DIG and Police Commissioner, Kochi City. He will also hold the full additional charge as DIG (anti-terrorist squad).
IPS Thomson Jose, previously DIG (Thrissur range), will assume the full additional charge as DIG (Ernakulam range).
IPS Hari Sankar, in addition to serving as the Superintendent of Police (SP) (cyber operations), will also hold full additional charge of the post of Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Police (personnel).
IPS Himendranath, the incumbent SP of the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (VACB), Ernakulam will take charge as SP (Crimes, Kottayam).
IPS Sasidharan, previously SP, Malappuram, has been transferred and appointed as SP (VACB Ernakulam). In his place, IPS Viswanadh will take over as the new SP of Malapurram.
