New Delhi: The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology’s (MeitY) SAMRIDH programme has accelerated 373 startups across the country, with 241 of them securing funding and a total of Rs 93.75 crore disbursed so far, according to official data.
The Startup Accelerator of MeitY for Product Innovation, Development and Growth (SAMRIDH) is designed to support around 300 startups through a network of existing and upcoming accelerators working in sectors such as health-tech, ed-tech, agri-tech, consumer-tech, fintech, software-as-a-service (SaaS) and sustainability.
As part of the programme, 186 accelerators submitted expressions of interest, out of which 43 accelerators were selected across 16 states to run structured acceleration programmes.
Overall, the selected accelerators span 23 states/UT and have collectively supported 373 startups.
Under SAMRIDH, startups are provided financial assistance of up to Rs 2 crore for acceleration, along with matching funding of up to Rs 40 lakh in line with programme guidelines. Of the startups accelerated, 241 have successfully secured this matching funding support.
The programme is being implemented through the MeitY Startup Hub under the Digital India Corporation, which monitors and evaluates the performance of the selected accelerators using both quantitative and qualitative parameters.
This includes tracking the revenue and valuation growth of supported startups on an annual basis, with the objective of building scalable, product-focused technology ventures in India.
