Mumbai: CRED has authorized biometric UPI payments through face or fingerprint.
This biometric authentication will be available for transactions up to Rs 5000 on both iOS and Android.
The feature was built in partnership with National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI). It adds to secure authentication beyond the UPI pin.
It will work on all CRED use cades including credit card bill payments, utility payments, merchant payments, scan and pay, peer to peer transfers and to check balance.
Biometric authentication will make UPI payments on CRED faster, secure and more reliable.
Users can complete transactions seamlessly minimising failures or delays.
The feature is in line with regulatory guidelines. It adds a stronger layer of protection against fraud through PIN exposure.
It also prevents instances of incorrect and mistyped PINs.
