Lucknow, July 13 (APAC Media): The Uttar Pradesh government has tightened job placement rules under its skill development programme.
Youth trained under the Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission (UPSDM) must now be provided jobs within 90 days of completing their training.
Training providers and companies failing to meet the placement requirement may face strict action, including blacklisting.
The move aims to hold training partners accountable for employment outcomes.
The new framework aims to turn skill training into real job opportunities, rather than limiting programmes to certificates.
UPSDM has launched an AI-powered ‘Skill Darpan’ dashboard to monitor training providers and their placement records.
The platform will track jobs provided within 90 days of training and the number of candidates placed by each provider.
It will also monitor job retention for one year and assess the overall performance of training institutions.
To improve transparency, UPSDM has tightened monitoring of training companies. A central control room at the mission headquarters will review daily reports from districts.
Companies involved in irregularities or failing to meet placement targets may face strict action. This includes removal from the empanelled list and reduction in training batches.
The government has also tightened monitoring at training centres.
Residential trainees must now complete eight hours of training every day. CCTV cameras will monitor classroom activities.
Trainees must also maintain at least 70% attendance to participate in job fairs and placement drives.
The reforms aim to improve the quality of skill training and help youth move faster into employment.
The new system also makes training providers directly accountable for placement outcomes.
