New Delhi: In a positive turn, 3.53 lakh Covid patients have recovered in the last 24 hours. India’s Covid caseload has reached 2.43 crore with 3.26 lakh new cases reported in the last 24 hours. 3,980 people have died of the infection during the period as per Covid data collated from state government figures.
According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 31,30,17,193 samples were tested for Covid-19 up to May 14, 2021. Of these, 16,93,093 samples were tested yesterday.
The country’s cumulative COVID-19 recoveries have surpassed two crore mark with 3.53 lakh patients recuperating in a day. This is the fourth time in the last five days that recoveries have outnumbered daily cases.
According to the Health Ministry, more than 18 crore vaccine doses have been administered in the country till Friday. Reports have been pouring in from across the country, barring a few states about fast recovery. Maharashtra on Friday reported under 40,000 cases for the first time since March 31.
The 39,923 new COVID-19 cases reported yesterday has pushed the western state’s caseload to 53.09 lakh. Nearly 80,000 people have died due to virus-related complications in the state since the pandemic began.
