New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on America tour. He reached Washington at 3.30 a.m. Indian time on Thursday, where he was received at the airport by US officials and Indian Ambassador Taranjit Singh Sandhu. At the same time, a large number of people of the Indian community were also present to welcome Modi. He also interacted with the people of the Indian community and praised them.
PM Modi is staying at Hotel Billard in Washington. Modi will also meet Apple CEO Tim Cook and heads of companies like Qualcomm, Adobe and Blackstone today. This will be followed by bilateral talks with Prime Minister Scott Morrison of Australia and Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga of Japan. After this, he will meet with the Vice President of America Kamala Harris.
The Prime Minister Modi will meet US President Joe Biden in Washington on 24 September. This will be the first time that the two leaders will meet face-to-face. Apart from this, there will be a meeting of the leaders of the Quad countries at the White House on Friday itself. Modi will then leave for New York and address the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly there on 25 September.
It is to be noted that this Indo-US talk will be very important for both the nations for the bilateral trade and the common interests of India and America.
