Raipur: Under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, the Chhattisgarh government has approved major investments to boost healthcare and medical education across the state.Â
In the 51st Board of Directors meeting of the Chhattisgarh Medical Services Corporation Limited (CGMSC) held at the new Raipur headquarters, tender rates were sanctioned for the construction of four new government medical colleges and six other key infrastructure projects worth over Rs 1,390 crore.
New Medical Colleges Across Four Districts
The board approved tender rates for the following institutions: Manendragarh Medical College (Rs 323.03 crore), Kabirdham Medical College (Rs 318.27 crore), Janjgir-Champa Medical College (Rs 318.27 crore), and Gidam Medical College (Rs 326.53 crore). Additionally, Rs 28.48 crore has been allocated for a 220-bed hospital in Manendragarh and Rs 79.52 crore for a government Ayurveda college and hospital in Bilaspur.
Boost to Employment and Rural Healthcare
The new medical colleges are expected to expand medical education, increase the availability of doctors and paramedical professionals, and create local employment opportunities. The projects will also improve access to quality healthcare in rural and remote regions.
Government’s Commitment to Public Health
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said the government is committed to building a strong healthcare infrastructure that ensures quality and accessible medical care for every citizen.
