Bhopal, May 8 (APAC Media): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Thursday inaugurated the newly built headquarters of the Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC), named ‘Atal Bhavan’, in Bhopal.
Constructed at a cost of Rs 73 crore, the new civic headquarters has been developed to strengthen municipal administration and improve public service delivery.
Building Designed on Green Concept
Addressing the event, CM Yadav said the new headquarters has been developed on the Green Building concept to provide multiple civic services to citizens under one roof. He described the building as a symbol of transparency, good governance, and efficient public administration.
He also said the project reflects the vision of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who believed that public service should remain at the centre of governance.
New Solar Project Inaugurated
During the programme, the Chief Minister remotely inaugurated a solar energy project set up by the BMC in Deori village of Neemuch district under the PPP model. The project has been developed at an estimated cost of around Rs 14 crore.
Yadav also participated in a cleanliness drive and wrote the message, “Bhopal will remain number one in cleanliness,” during the event.
PPE Kits Distributed to Sanitation Workers
As part of the programme, PPE kits were distributed to sanitation workers. The kits included raincoats, helmets, gloves, masks, reflective jackets, and full-body protective gear aimed at improving safety and working conditions for sanitation staff.
Bhopal Mayor Malti Rai said the newly constructed ‘Atal Bhavan’ has been built with a ground floor and eight additional floors. Spread across nearly two lakh square feet, the building has been equipped with modern facilities and infrastructure to support better civic administration and public services.
