Raipur: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister has announced projects worth Rs 1,000 crore for boosting the state’s infrastructure sector.
On 6 March, 2023, CM announced 13,77 new construction projects in urban and rural areas. The CM also proposed a light metro service between Nava Raipur and Durg. The development of 1,081 roads will be undertaken at Rs 579 crore. While Rs 149 crore has been anticipated for the construction of 272 major and medium bridges, Rs nine crore has been approved for the construction of 24 new government rest houses.
A total of Rs 29.95 crore has been estimated for the construction, surveying, and utility of 50 railway overbridges. The state budget includes funding for a flyover connecting Telibandha and VIP Chowk. Similarly, Rs 43 crore has been included as new items for the survey and construction of 17 roads under the ADB, Phase IV project.
The maintenance of roads built under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana and Mukhyamantri Gram Sadak Yojana has been estimated at Rs 500 crore. Similarly, Rs 15 crore will be invested in infrastructure development in new districts at a rate of Rs one crore per development block.
CM has also allocated Rs 28.26 crore for the construction of the new Chhattisgarh Bhawan in New Delhi’s Chanakyapuri neighbourhood. The budget also includes funding for the development of a new airstrip in Baikunthpur and a commercial airport in Korba. The budget includes a provision of Rs 11.70 crore for the construction of district transport offices and 11 check posts in Dantewada, Mungeli, Jashpur, and Baloda Bazar.
