1995 batch senior IPS Officer of AGMUT cadre, IPS SS Khandare has been appointed as IG BSF. He is presently posted as Police Chief in Ladakh UT.
The Ministry of Home Affairs has issued an order regarding this.
Khandare has worked earlier as Jammu & Kashmir cadre officer. He was chosen as the first Head of the Ladakh Union Territory police force in the rank of Inspector General of Police (IGP), after Ladakh became a Union Territory.
Khandare is a native of Jalka Pata village in Dhamangaon (Rly) of the Amravati district.
In 2005, he was posted as Superintendent of Police, in Hingoli district, and promoted as Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) in Pune. He also worked as an Additional Inspector General of Police (Addl. IG) at Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) at Nagpur, New Mumbai, and later with Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).
He was repatriated to the home cadre of J&K and assumed charge of Inspector General of Police on promotion for about two years.
