New Delhi: Amazon Web Services (AWS) recently unveiled the AWS Space Accelerator, aimed at nurturing startups in the space technology sector and expediting their growth with backing from Telangana’s startup incubators T-Hub and Minfy. This program is a direct outcome of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed with ISRO and IN-SPACe in September 2023.
Over a span of 14 weeks, the accelerator program will equip Indian startups with essential resources, technical expertise, and business guidance to leverage AWS for their missions. It caters to both fledgling and established startups in India committed to advancing the space industry, offering them a technology platform to fast-track their development and attract investment opportunities.
Interested startups have until March 17 to register for the program, which promises benefits including up to $100,000 in AWS credits, mentorship from ISRO, IN-SPACe, and AWS experts, as well as business and technology support from T-Hub and Minfy, an AWS Premier Partner.
Participants will delve into space domain technologies, learning to harness space data and construct scalable solutions using cloud computing, data analytics, machine learning, and potentially generative artificial intelligence (AI). ISRO will contribute to the accelerator with educational workshops and seminars, while IN-SPACe will engage with the Indian space-tech community.
Clint Crosier, Director of Aerospace and Satellite at AWS Inc., said cloud computing can empower space-tech startups with high-performance computing resources for intensive data analysis, machine learning, and innovation while achieving cost efficiency, rapid deployment, and scalability.
