New Delhi: The Centre has appointed senior IAS officer Pradip Kumar Tripathi as the Secretary to the Lokpal. He is currently posted as the Secretary (Coordination) in the Cabinet Secretariat. He will assume his new role until his retirement on June 30, and continue for an additional two years on a contract basis. Tripathi is an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer from the 1987 batch.
Several other officers were also shuffled into crucial positions, as per an order issued by the Ministry of Personnel. Their names and designations are as follows:
- IAS officer Raj Kumar Goyal (AGMUT:1990), previously the Secretary of Border Management, has been appointed the Secretary of the Department of Justice under the Ministry of Law & Justice.
- IAS officer Rajendra Kumar (Tamil Nadu: 1992), currently the Director General of the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), is succeeding Goyal as the Border Management Secretary.
- IAS officer Amit Yadav (AGMUT:1991), the Chairperson of the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), has been posted as the Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in the Department of Social Justice & Empowerment. He will take over as the Secretary of the department after the retirement of IAS Saurabh Garg on July 31, 2024.
- IAS officer Rakesh Ranjan (Manipur:1992), presently the Special Secretary in the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, has been appointed as the Chairman of the Staff Selection Commission (SSC).
